Because minderfinders is an online booking service, the registration visit
is one of the few times we will actually meet you in person. One of our policies at minderfinders
is that we would never ask a babysitter to go to the home of a family who we have never met/verified.
The registration visit provides an element of reassurance for all, as your childcare requirements, household routines; profile preferences for sitters etc. are discussed, giving us a clearer idea of which babysitters might suit you best.
What should I do for my first booking?
Having logged your booking with us, you will receive a courtesy call from your babysitter, before 4 p.m. on the day before the date of appointment. We suggest that you discuss the booking with your child in advance, in order to prepare him/her for the arrival of your new babysitter. On arrival your babysitter should be introduced to your child/children. Your babysitter will receive your family profile in advance, and will have any information you have provided us with at registration! Allow enough time to go over the information with them, show them the house, and answer any questions.
How soon can I make my first booking?
In the days following your registration visit, your family profile is set up on our database, and your babysitters assigned to you, we then exchange details between you and your sitter. Your membership fee is payable by standing order and usually takes about 5 working days to be initiated! We say that you can start making booking from 2 weeks after your house visit, however it can be sooner!
Will I meet the babysitter prior to my first booking?
As a Parent/guardian you will feel anxious when leaving your child with a babysitter for the first time. We suggest that on your first booking, you have your babysitter arrive some time before you leave the house, to allow you to acquaint yourselves before you leave the house to go out. We have found, from our experience, that this puts all concerned at ease, allowing the parent/guardian to go out feeling reassured with peace of mind.
Can I express a preference in terms of the profiles of the babysitters I’m assigned?
During your registration visit, your preferences regarding the type of experience, age etc. will be discussed. You will be assigned babysitters who best suit your family requirements.
Will I have the same babysitter each time I book?
When you join minderfinders, you will be introduced to a few babysitters in the initial weeks of your membership. It is likely that you will have a favourite sitter, and will be invited to express your preference when logging a booking. We endeavour to meet your request where possible; however, while we will guarantee provision of a sitter, we can never guarantee the availability of a particular sitter. If you have a preference for a sitter, we would encourage as much advance notice when logging bookings as possible.
How much notice is needed?
For sessional bookings of 3 hours or more, we will require at least 24 hours advance notice to guarantee provision of a babysitter,
however if you wish to have babysitter preference, we would ask for as much advance notice as possible!
Because Saturday evening is our busiest evening of the week, you should log bookings for Saturday evening before the close of business on Wednesday of that week!
If you are booking your babysitter to stay overnight, or for a 24 hour booking we would ask for one week advance booking.
You may book your babysitter to accompany you on a family holiday, or care for your children while you are away. If travelling, a passport may need to be organised, we would therefore require one month, prior notice for such bookings.
